Pool Filter Cleaning & Replacement
Keep your filtration system running smoothly and efficiently.

Why Your Pool Filter Matters More Than You Think
Your pool filter is the hardest working piece of equipment you own. It runs for hours every day, pulling out dirt, debris, oils, and contaminants that would otherwise make your water cloudy and unsafe. But when your filter gets clogged with all that junk, it cannot do its job properly. Water flow slows down, chemicals do not circulate well, and your pool starts looking dull no matter how much you clean it.
Most Victorville homeowners do not realize their filter needs regular cleaning until they notice problems. By then, your pump is working overtime, your energy bills are higher, and your water quality has suffered. Our professional pool maintenance service includes filter inspection and cleaning to keep everything running smoothly.
Signs Your Filter Needs Cleaning or Replacement
How do you know when your filter needs attention? Here are the most common warning signs we see:
- Water looks cloudy or hazy even after shocking
- Pressure gauge reads 8-10 PSI higher than normal
- Water takes longer to clear after adding chemicals
- Pump runs louder than usual or seems to strain
- You cannot remember the last time it was cleaned
- Filter cartridges or grids show visible damage
- Sand in your filter is more than 5 years old
If any of these sound familiar, it is time to call us. Waiting too long can damage your pump and cost you hundreds more in repairs. Regular filter maintenance is much cheaper than replacing burnt-out equipment.
We Service All Types of Pool Filters
Every pool uses one of three filter types, and we are experts at servicing all of them. Cartridge filters are the most common and need cleaning every few months. We remove the cartridges, spray them down thoroughly, and inspect them for tears or damage. If they are beyond cleaning, we will let you know so you can replace them before they fail completely.
Sand filters require backwashing regularly and complete sand replacement every 3 to 5 years. Many homeowners forget about this, and old sand loses its filtering ability. We drain out the old sand and replace it with fresh, properly sized filter media. Diatomaceous earth filters are less common but highly effective. We break them down, clean the grids, and recharge them with fresh DE powder.
The Victorville Dust and Debris Challenge
Living in the High Desert means dealing with constant dust and wind-blown debris. Your filter works harder here than it would in other parts of California. Sand, dirt, and pollen get blown into your pool daily, especially during wind storms. This means your filter clogs faster and needs more frequent cleaning. Our team understands these local conditions and can recommend a cleaning schedule that matches your specific situation. For complete pool care, check out our weekly cleaning service.
Filter Replacement When Cleaning Is Not Enough
Sometimes cleaning is not enough. If your filter cartridges are torn, your filter sand is clumped and hard, or your DE grids are bent, replacement is the only option. We carry quality replacement parts and can get your system back to peak performance quickly.
New cartridges typically last 1 to 2 years with proper care. Fresh filter sand lasts 3 to 5 years. DE grids can last 5 to 10 years if maintained correctly. We will inspect your equipment and give you honest advice about whether cleaning or replacement makes more sense for your situation. Need other pool repairs? Our equipment repair service handles it all.
